Social Permaculture: Empowering an Active Society

Erasmus+ project
1 January 2022 – 30 June 2024

Why?

The Social PEAS project is derived from the identified need to tackle social exclusion, climate and environmental challenges through the use of permaculture to create resilient and sustainable communities.

We at HCAF also strongly believe that many of todays crises, including the mental health crisis can be tackled by (social) permaculture practices.

What?

The Social PEAS project is focused on developing a special permaculture training for vulnerable adults as well as professionals
working with vulnerable adults. The target groups of the project are: vulnerable adults, people who suffer from mental health issues, elderly people,
homeless people and people with housing deprivations, former drug or alcohol users, people with disabilities, adult educators and experts,
working with vulnerable adults.

Who?

The Social PEAS project is led by Friends of the Earth Cyprus, in collaboration with Friends of the Earth Malta, Fundación Intras (Spain), Hekate Conscious Ageing Foundation (the Netherlands), Promimpresa (Italy) and ICEP, the Institute of European Certification of Personnel (Slovakia).

Where?

In Cyprus, Malta, Spain, Italy, Slovakia and the Netherlands.

Testimonials

When you look back now, what do you think, how do you feel about the pilot training:

” It was very interesting and I consider this training as a gate that opens up more opportunities for cooperation in the future. The topics we were discussing about are in my main focus these days.”

“I could meet people outside of my bubble and internationally.”

“The most important is that you gave a structure I can use in my work and life (eg. the video with the A and B field or the permaculture as framework)”
