Conscious Walks – Summer 2020

Research shows that outdoor walking groups not only facilitate interaction with nature, social groups, and physical activity but create space for mental, emotional, and social well-being benefits. (Mary Ann Liebert, Ecopsychology, 2014) Can you imagine then how multiplied these benefits can be if during a walk with fellow humans we have real BIG talks? 🙂

We invite you to WALK WITH US to discover and learn more about your important topics through powerful reflections, meaningful discussions and real life human connections!

It’s definitely your place if you:

  • Would like take a nice walk in the nature
  • Meet and connect with diverse people having similar interests as you do
  • Want to dig around some important topics
  • Want to just switch off and do something different

Our first Conscious Walks will discover the topics that we consider two of our core values: consciousness & care. These events are informal gathering: guided walks with activities. The events are designed in a way that participants will have space to walk in pairs while sharing their thoughts with each other, walk and reflect alone, and discuss about outcomes in the big group once finished – probably still while walking. We expect them to be very light and refreshing.

Practical information:

  1. Walk for Consciousness: 30th June 2020, 18:00-20:00
  2. Walk for Care: 21th July 2020, 18:00-20:00
  • Location: Scheveningse Bosjes in Den Haag

The Conscious walks are free of charge and registration is not needed for participation.

The events are organised by Hekate Conscious You(th) and will be facilitated by Nori Taliga, our Community and Impact Leader.

Don’t hesitate: this is the time to take a conscious step to engage with people, walk together and do something for Yourself.

If you have any questions, just get in touch with us! 🙂

Wometamorphosis / Turning points in women’s life

Are you:

  • at a crossroads?
  • starting the next phase of life?
  • facing new challenges?
  • feeling stuck in your life?
  • lost in what your real desire is?

Through life we navigate different transition periods. Some of them feel nice and are nourishing, other changes bring uncertainty, losses and pain. Some are universal phases of a woman’s life (like puberty, starting a new relationship, becoming a mother or not, going through menopause, retirement). Some we might choose (like a career change or move) and some we might not (like losing a loved one).

We take an active role or not, we may be disoriented and confused during these periods  with all its promises of new possibilities and also its anxiety, emptiness and fears.

In this 2-day workshop for women we’ll be exploring the transition phase which you are going through. We’ll take time to:

  • close and integrate the past
  • explore the challenges and opportunities of the metamorphosis

We all know the term: “midlife crisis”. Is it a must? Does it really have to happen? Or is it just a wrong approach? We, at Conscious Ageing, believe in Midlife Change. Going through demanding mental, emotional, existential, hormonal and bodily changes is an inevitable part of life. How we go through this? That is the art of it…

“Tackling Midlife Change” is a series of workshops in which we create space for participants to address their own midlife issues. Our aim is to support inner-change in an inspiring and peaceful environment. Participating in the workshops one can expect to raise her self-awareness, consciousness, and proactivity when reflecting on those very individual and personal challenges.

  • Are you just about realising that these topics resonate with you these days?
  • Have you been thinking about similar issues for a while?
  • Have you already got questions to work on and would like to elaborate on them further?
  • Are you looking for a like-minded community and space to support your inner work?

If the answer is yes to any of them, you might want to consider joining in.

This workshop aims to raise awareness about our own Midlife Changes. It addresses emotional, mental and bodily challenges in an empowering way.

Working and connecting with Nature is a powerful tool to reach and maintain our inner peace and balance, even if we are going through challenging periods in our lives. During the workshop, we will work on our connection with our inner selves as well as with Nature. Purple economy and care crisis

“[Brussels, 25 January 2018] This paper argues for a Purple economy focusing on care at the heart of sustainable development. Written on behalf of EWL, by Anna Sofia Fernandes from the EWL Portuguese coordination, the paper sets forth a vision for an economic model that places care as its backbone. Investing in care is part of a forward looking, long term sustainable development model.”

Silver economy

“Around the world, people are ageing. The phenomenon is more marked in the developed world. In Europe and focusing on The Netherlands specifically, the average age of the population has gone from 71 in 1960, to around 81 in 2014. This trend has been seen in many countries around the world and has led to an increasing number of policy decisions on how to better support and utilise this increasingly significant population. For example, ‘The silver economy’ as a concept is more positive than traditional concepts of ageing, that tend to focus on the simple provision of care and support to the elderly community. The silver economy as a concept, focuses on how economically significant the +65 age group can be. Could the significance of ‘silvers’ in the future lead to a change in how we treat and support people as they age? Could policies and attitudes to ageing become more nuanced and lead to increasingly diverse ways in which this group can contribute and support local and national economies?”
